We love to adorn our churches and homes with the icon of dear saint Nicholas. Saint Nicholas transcends time and ethnic boundaries, this ever popular Russian saint is truly a saint of all the peoples of the earth. Nicholas of Myra was at the first Great Council at Nicea where he withstood the heretic Arius. He was a wonderworker of miracles. And he died a martyr for the Faith. But he is most famous for how he served the poor and how he sacrificed his enormous wealth for the cause of Christ's little children. Upon every sighting of this saint we should remember his example of sacrificing his wealth for the cause of Christ in meeting the needs of those all around him.Bible Note: The Rule of Doing Alms
